Specimen: invented data, not a real survey

  1. Page 1 of the specimen report, the summary. Example Works, Ground, Unit 4 warehouse floor, judged against a client requirement. Uniformity is below requirement at Uo 0.29 against Uo 0.40, and maintained average illuminance meets requirement at 222.6 lux against 200.0 lux. Tiles give 36 readings with calibration in date, and a spread of 64.9 to 273.5 lux. Beneath are the report reference, site, level, area, measurement plane, drawing and times, all in BST, then the basis of assessment: a requirement the surveyor entered from a client brief, revision B, with no maintenance factor recorded.

  2. Page 2, the assessment: 2 requirements considered, 1 met and 1 below. Maintained average illuminance meets requirement, 222.6 lux measured over 36 points against at least 200.0 lux. Uniformity is below requirement, Uo 0.29 against at least 0.4, and the comparison says the lowest reading is further below the average than the requirement allows. Each result says why the requirement exists. Below them is a one-row measurement record summary for the warehouse floor: maximum 273.5 lux, minimum 64.9 lux.

  3. Page 3, the plan of measured points: a 9 by 4 grid of 36 readings in lux, with the minimum, 64.9, and the maximum, 273.5, ringed and labelled. Notes say the outline is 24 by 12 metres and is not a scaled drawing. Short sections follow: no planned points are on record, so coverage cannot be stated; no conditions before measurement were recorded; and the 36 readings came from an instrument whose calibration was in date.

  4. Page 4, the readings table for points r1 to r20. Each row gives the regime, the reading in lux, a height of 0.00 metres, the sensor tilt measured by the instrument, the time it was taken on 14 May 2026 in BST, and the instrument serial.

  5. Page 5, readings r21 to r36 in the same columns, then a note that the sensor's tilt was measured by the instrument at each reading and that every reading was taken at floor level.

  6. Page 6, the instrument and the signature. A Chauvin Arnoux C.A 1110 with specimen serial and certificate numbers, calibrated on 11 February 2026 and in date until 11 February 2027, accreditation not recorded; a note that no copy of the calibration certificate was attached; and the surveyor's self-declared knowledge status. The signature block gives algorithm ES256, signed 14 May 2026 at 17:40 BST, fingerprint NYiu NRjx zQj3, and a square code that carries the signature and the public key.
